Robert A Felberg MD

A neurologist with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Robert Felberg has designed and developed several well-known Comprehensive Stroke Centers. An award winning medical educator, he recognizes there is a critical lack of teaching in the factors required to be a truly successful physician beyond clinical knowledge. He founded Physician Advocates LLC and Medical Success Central to inform and help physicians learn how to become successful in their medical career.

Background:

Fellowship trained at University of Texas Houston Health Science Center under the tutelage of Dr’s James GrottaAndrei Alexandrov, and working in the laboratory of Jarek Aronoswonski, Dr Felberg is board certified in Neurology, Neurocritical Care, and Cerebrovascular Neurosonology. He completed his Neurology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was a chief resident and clinical instructor after graduating medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

With an interest in Education, Acute Stroke, Health Systems Integration and Processes, Dr Felberg reached out to the underserved urban patient population in New Orleans, Louisiana and underserved rural communities in central Pennsylvania, serving as stroke program directors at the Ochsner Medical Center and Geisinger Medical Center. He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Overlook Medical Center in Summit – one of the busiest stroke practices in the Northeast.

With an interest in acute stroke therapytelemedicineneurosonologyintracerebral hemorrhage and Patent Foramen Ovale,  Dr Felberg has published in several per reviewed journal, participated in multiple clinical trials as primary investigator or on the executive committee. He helped run one of the first randomized trials of hypothermia following cardiac arrest and also participated in several of the early trials of carotid stenting. He has presented at several international conference and is a highly requested grand rounds lecturer.
